My First Salvia Experience

by The Dude

I consider myself an Experienced Tripper. I have eaten several types and quantities of Mushrooms, Cacti and LSD on a few occasions. I have tried Salvia leaves before with no success a few years ago (smoked) and just recently picked up 40x and 60x extract.

I mentally prepared myself for the journey before smoking by raising my expectations to a very high level. I thought about the most intense trip I have ever had and expected the Salvia experience to be on par with that. That trip, I had ingested 15 grams of Mushrooms. Needless to say, this did not prepare me at all for Salvia.

I smoked 1 gram of the 40x extract through my bong with ice and water to cool the smoke so I could hold it longer. I sat on my sofa and took a hit and held it. I do not remember exhaling. Almost immediately the room began to spin clockwise and it felt like the reality I was in was being peeled away. A wave of visuals started behind me and slowly enveloped the room. As it passed over me I felt like I was being pulled out of my body and lost all recollection of what I just ingested. I was sweating profusely and it felt as if a residue was left on me as reality was peeled away. For a couple of seconds I was overwhelmed with what I was experiencing but I relaxed and decided to just "go with it". During the whole episode I felt like there was something attached to the back of my head. I felt it difficult to move my head forward. It just kept being pulled back into the sofa. It lasted for 10 min but felt like an hour.

I had a sitter, but he kept asking me questions about what I was feeling. This kept me from really letting go, so I would recommend that if you have a sitter, make sure they will keep their mouth shut during the experience. This is a 100% introspective trip. Not a party experience.

On a scale of trip intensity between 1 and 10, I would say it hit briefly and quickly hit the 10 mark. This stuff is no joke. I imagine it is like DMT in its potentcy but lacking in the duration. I look forward to a better experience.
